So I am not sure if this is standard reviewer operating procedure or just cruel. Or maybe there is some policy discriminating against dolphins.
I don’t know but if you do a search there is not one dolphin in ActiveDen.
So I created a flash file where I have realistic dolphins swimming across the screen using AS3 . After submitting I got this as the rejection.
“Date: Mon, 7 Nov 2011 : Unfortunately this file cannot be approved at this time as it is in need of optimization. The file uses a large amount of CPU resources that could affect computer performance. Please optimize this file before resubmitting to ActiveDen.”
I found the problem and fixed it taking CPU usage down by almost 70% and resubmitted the file for approval. Well now its being rejected because of:
“Date: Thu, 17 Nov 2011 : Unfortunately this file does not meet ActiveDen’s strict aesthetic guidelines so cannot be approved.”
The reviewer was [name removed by mod] for both.
I have 2 problems with this:
1. You shouldn’t make someone work on lowering their CPU usage only to tell them “oops oh yeah I forgot your file isn’t nice enough either”.
2. I can’t understand how nearly photorealistic dolphins swimming across the screen isn’t “aesthetically” good enough. Also there isn’t a single dolphin in active den so it is completely unique as well. I mean really who is against lovable dolphins?
Here is a link to the preview file and a larger show version. If you guys have any suggestions for the file that may help get it approved that would be greatly appreciated. Come on guys help me out I just want to be part of the cool kids who post stuff here.
the direction, speed, swim speed, and also the tint and blur depending on distance are controled by AS3 .
