Nothing new, they keep saying they are focusing Gaming which frankly i don’t see any change or impact on this sector….. the impact on flash gaming is so slow and negligible right now.
second is Premium video which always had a strong impact on use with flash for example in WC 2014 Brazil which is the biggest sport event in the world Premium video will be used as a mandatory to spared contact over the web .
The core driving of flash popularity in general was due to 2 million flash developers/freelancer worldwide and its look like most of them will just fade away in time.
The success of any program lang` measure in the simplistic of use, and use it in verity platform and not strict it or more right to say focusing on a “narrow” sectore cos` they really can’t handle competition and they just give up …. If your mentor give up or look for the easy way and loose the territory to inferior technology don’t expect dev` followers..
I see also ActionScript 3 will not change so fast just update on the syntax, I look at this back, based on jquery syntax and popularity forcing the shift to AS3 from AS2 (and i was the biggest fan of the AS3 migration ) did the most damage in the freelance world .
Let me finish with tribute to all flashers it’s not fun to be lonely .

RimV saidThat what we say last year
The future is uncertain… I rarely touch/working with flash/flex/air any way .. I move on “long” time ago ….. but i am a fan
![]()
I’m getting a lot of Flex/Air jobs these days. It seems everybody is leaving Flex projects for HTML5 ; still there are a lot of agencies needing this kind of knowledge.
I know well this won’t last long… so I’m going Android (Air for mobile is very, very limited)

Marco …ill always do any kind of flash thing if i need to … but i focuses this days on other things i didn’t touch before like Drupal, Ruby& Rails and some other s* i need to sharp my edge with …
What i am saying Marco as long you will be alive with Flex/Air ill be around and will support flash…and don’t worry ill never leave you alone here, there are some spooky members here
.
Regarding everybody is leaving Flex projects for HTML5 …well you really can’t do much on the canvas s* anyway with HTML5 until cross browser will be mandatory for all, i already try it and right now i am not wasting my time on the HTML5 canvas, there is really no money there right now .
Bottom line from what i see the true monster platform is going to be mobile and mobile and more mobile

eheh… I do totally agree
Out with the old, in with new. Rinse, repeat until new is old and old is new. C’est la vie.

I know where you’re coming from. I haven’t seen a downtrend in flash client work at all, only microstock.
If you think about it, why were flash templates so popular back when? Mostly because XML driven flash templates were easier for non-programmers to set up, edit, and use than buying/using HTML templates. Now with wordpress growing into a platform that can do full on sites rather than just blogs and having such a large theme base, it’s easier for non-programmers to install a wordpress theme than edit XML . Mobiles and seo has a little affect I’m sure (though good flash templates are mobile/seo friendly…), but I’d say the downtrend for flash in the microstock world has FAR more to do with content management than with rendering platform.
